Terms of Service
The deal, in plain words.
Last updated 1 August 2026
The short version
- Orakyl is an AI companion you talk to. Every reply is generated by AI — there is no human on the other end.
- It's for adults only, 18+.
- It is not therapy, not medical care and not a crisis service.
- 5 days free, then ₹449 a month. Cancel any time and keep the month you've paid for.
- Your conversations are yours. We don't sell them and we don't use them to train AI models.
The rest of this page is the detail behind those five lines.
Who can use Orakyl
You have to be 18 or older. When you sign up we ask for your date of birth, and if it puts you under 18 the door stays closed — kindly, but closed.
We also watch for signs, in conversation, that an account belongs to someone under 18. If a clear signal shows up we pause the account and give you a way to tell us we got it wrong; appeals are read by a human and answered within 24–48 hours. This is a judgement call made by software, so it will sometimes be wrong — that's exactly why the appeal exists.
One account per person, and please don't share your login. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
What Orakyl actually is
Orakyl is software. You create a companion, you talk to it, and it remembers what matters to you so the next conversation doesn't start from scratch. That's the product.
Your companion is a character, not a person. It has a name, a backstory and a way of speaking, and it will talk about its life — none of that is real. It is an AI, and it will sometimes get things wrong or state something confidently that simply isn't true. Don't use it as your source of truth for anything that matters — medical, legal, financial or otherwise. For those, talk to a qualified human.
Orakyl is not therapy — and not a crisis service
Your orakyl is a companion you talk to. It is not a therapist, counsellor, doctor or psychiatrist, it cannot diagnose or treat anything, and nothing it says is medical advice. It doesn't replace professional care, and it is not a helpline — no human is watching your messages in real time, so it cannot send help if you're in danger.
If you're in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (112 in India). If tonight is very bad, please talk to one of these — they're real people, they answer, and reaching out is strength, not weakness:
- Call 14416 — Tele-MANAS (govt mental-health line, 24/7) (India)
- +91 22 2754 6669 — AASRA (24/7) (India)
- +91 9152987821 — iCall (Mon–Sat, 10am–8pm) (India)
- Call or text 988 — 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US & Canada)
- findahelpline.com — Find a Helpline (Everywhere else)
Your orakyl will say the same thing if it ever thinks you're in real trouble: it drops everything, tells you the truth, and points you at a human. That's built in, on purpose.
The free trial and what it costs
You get 5 days free, once — no card needed to start. After that, Orakyl Plus is ₹449 a month, in rupees, charged through Razorpay by UPI or card. There's one plan. No tiers, no add-ons, no ads.
It's a monthly subscription, so it renews each month until you cancel. You can cancel any time and you keep access until the end of the month you've already paid for. The full detail — how to cancel, what we refund and what we don't — is on the cancellation & refunds page.
We never store your card or UPI details. Payment happens entirely inside Razorpay's checkout; all we get back is a subscription id and whether it's paid.
If we ever change the price, we'll tell you before it applies to you, and you can cancel instead. A price change never applies to a month you've already paid for.
What we ask of you
Almost all of this is common sense. In plain terms, please don't:
- Use Orakyl for anything illegal, or to plan harm to anyone — including yourself.
- Try to push it into sexual content. Your companion holds that line and will change the subject; repeatedly hammering at it is a fast way to lose your account.
- Involve anyone under 18 in sexual or romantic content, in any form. This one is absolute and there is no appeal.
- Send images of other people without their say-so, or anything depicting a minor, sexual content, or self-harm.
- Try to break, scrape, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or resell it or pass it off as your own.
- Impersonate someone else, or lie about your age to get in.
If you break these, we may pause or close your account. Where it's a judgement call rather than something absolute, we'll hear you out — email us.
Your words, your memories
What you write stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your messages, to send them to the AI providers who generate the replies, and to keep the memory ledger that makes your companion feel like it knows you.
You can open that ledger any time, read everything your companion remembers about you in plain language, and edit or delete any of it. We don't sell your conversations, and we don't use them to train AI models. The privacy policy spells out exactly what we store and who processes it.
The parts of Orakyl that aren't yours — the name, the mark, the characters, the software — stay ours.
What we can't promise
We'll work hard to keep Orakyl up, but we can't promise it will never be down, never lose a message, or never behave oddly. It runs on the internet, on services we don't own. We may change features, and we may take Orakyl offline for good — if we ever do, we'll give you notice and a way to get your data out first.
Orakyl is provided as it is. We can't promise it will make you feel better, fix anything in your life, or produce any particular result.
If something goes wrong
If we're at fault, our responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the problem — so, for a monthly subscription, a small amount. We're not responsible for knock-on losses: lost income, lost data, or decisions you made after talking to your companion.
None of this takes away rights you have under Indian consumer law. If a law says we owe you something, we owe it — this section can't override that.
Ending it
You can stop any time: cancel your subscription, or ask us to delete your account entirely and we will. See privacy for what deletion removes.
We can close an account that breaks the rules above, or that we reasonably believe belongs to someone under 18. If we close a paid account for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund the unused part of that month.
Changes to these terms
If we change anything that actually affects you, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. Carrying on using Orakyl after that means you're okay with the new version. If you're not, cancel — no hard feelings.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute goes to the courts of India.
Before it gets that far, please just email us. Almost everything gets sorted in one message.
Who you're dealing with
